Visitor visa guide for 🇧🇪 Belgium

Belgium can be detail focused on purpose of visit and supporting documents. Make sure your relationship proof, invitation, and day by day plan are consistent and easy to verify.

Additional tips for our Schengen checklist.

VFS Global submission: Apply through VFS in Bangkok – slots can fill up, so schedule your appointment early, especially before holiday seasons.

Formal invitation (“Annexe 3bis”): If your Belgian partner is financially sponsoring you, they should obtain an official guarantor form (Annexe 3bis) from their town hall. Include this document to strengthen your application. If you’re funding yourself, a simple invitation letter and your partner’s ID copy are enough.

Relationship proof: Belgium expects solid proof of your relationship. Include photos together over time, chat logs, and travel stamps. They might be stricter if you haven’t met in person, so provide as much evidence as possible of genuine partnership.

Return ties & finances: The embassy checks your ties to Thailand carefully. Show strong reasons to return (job, family, assets). If you’re unemployed, it’s crucial to demonstrate your sponsor’s commitment and your long-term plans in Thailand. Financially, ensure either you or your partner (with Annexe 3bis) can show sufficient funds for the trip.
